Painting
A fresh finish that changes the way your home feels.
Design inspiration · Not a completed ATI projectA fresh interior starts with the surface underneath.
Interior painting can refresh a single room or create a more consistent feel throughout your home. Color, sheen, and the relationship between walls, ceilings, and trim all influence the finished result.
Preparation is just as important as the paint selection. Existing surface condition, previous coatings, repairs, and the amount of detail work determine the right approach and help establish a realistic scope.
What your project can include
The final scope depends on your home, goals, and the work agreed in your estimate.
Walls and ceilings
Discuss the rooms and surfaces to be painted, color changes, ceiling treatments, and areas that need patching or further evaluation before a new coating is applied.
Trim and interior details
Baseboards, casings, and other painted woodwork may need a different preparation and finish approach than walls. Define which details are included so the scope is clear.
Preparation and finish selection
Review surface repairs, protection of adjacent finishes, primer needs, and sheen choices. Durability and cleanability should be balanced with the appearance you prefer.
Planning your project
Have room photos, color ideas, and a list of surfaces ready. Note stains, peeling paint, or previous moisture problems rather than assuming a new coat will solve them. Discuss furniture access, occupied rooms, and whether drywall or trim repairs need to happen first. Older coatings may require additional assessment before disturbance.

How do I choose a paint sheen?
Consider the room’s use, how often surfaces are cleaned, and how visible existing imperfections are. Test samples in the room’s actual light; the same color can look different on walls and trim.
Can painting hide damaged drywall?
Paint does not correct cracks, uneven patches, or the source of a stain. Appropriate surface repair and investigation of recurring damage should come before finish painting.
